Atlantic Ocean

The weather was terrific yesterday and the kids played outside while their Daddy was cleaning the garage. S2 found the box of chalk and proceeded to draw on the driveway. His sister followed suit and here were their creations.

They said it was the Atlantic Ocean.

I love the crab!

I'm wondering if the pink thing is a fish carrying a flag or a submarine with a flag...

Then there's the sun.... Of course, happily shining over the blue waters...

Upcycling

I showed the fam my Catch-All Baskets this weekend and it was a hit! These baskets are upcycled from upholstery samples and so they are sturdy. Besides being "Green" they are especially terrific because they are totally collapsible and can be tucked away in a drawer when unused or packed easily in your luggage to use while traveling! Here are the first ones I made for myself to stash all my quilting fabrics. Because the upholstery fabric gives a little, it can expand some to be stuffed full! Stay tuned in my Etsy shop where I will be selling them in singles or a deal for three!

Family Weekend

Had a terrific time with the whole family this past weekend. The only one missing was V....as usual. =o(

We went strawberry picking...

Fishing...

Rode horses...

And I still had time to crochet some scarves. Here's my niece modeling her Aunt's scarf!

2 Balls of Clay

S2 came home with this wonderful clay creation! I asked him if he created it or just painted it. He proudly said that he made it all by himself starting out with 2 balls of clay. I thought he created a terrific frog! What do you think?

It's Mardi Gras Time

They had a Mardi Gras Celebration at Mom and Dad K's church and the kids had a blast! S2 came home with a bead necklace just for Mommy. Of course, he didn't want his picture taken but I was able to get one with a pout.

Here's T with her face design.

Pooh Bear Quilt

After piecing the "Love Found" yesterday, T wanted to make her very own quilt for her Pooh Bear. I told her that she can pick whatever fabric that she wanted and she had fun choosing and looking through the shelves and scrap bags.

She worked hard and finished piecing it and quilting it before she went to bed late last night.

Grandma came over this afternoon and was excited to see her quilt. They both decided that she is going to enter the quilt in the Children's category of the County Quilt Show. Now T is very eager to enter and place. She is talking about the ribbon she hopes to get! She is working hard on her binding and is learning to handle the needle a little better.

Saturday Affairs

T decided that today was the day that she was going to start sewing with Mommy. But before I can even fit her into my studio, I had to clean and straighten out the mess. I think I made pretty good progress with the main shelf including putting all the fabric in color order.

It was truly wonderful to have T in my creative room and right by my side, working so hard with her sewing.

Between the two of us, we pieced together a guilt big enough to cover a queen size bed.

I think that I will call this one "Love Found".

In between sewing, we took a little break to make all the Valentines for both T and S2s class. Daddy took the lead in this project and was the one that went out with them to buy their cards and sweets.

I do love productive days, don't you?

Get Well Soon...

T missed S2 so much yesterday but could not greet him when she came home because he was asleep. She decided to make him a card and leave it for him while she left for communion class. Here's the card.
