A Pair of Fruits!!

I'm telling you that 2 is my lucky number...
Seems that even our fruit trees believe in twos...
We found fruits growing on the Asian Pear tree!!
Two of them!!! Woohoo!!! Hopefully that means that we will have alot of fruits next year!

Assembly Line

As I finish the binding on the Hello Kitty Quilt,

S2 and T decided to craft a little to keep me company. They created an assembly line to work on the latch hook Gator Shag. Here is T doing the prep work by cutting.

And here is S2 putting it on the canvas and tying it!

Here is their progress. What a team! It's turning out quite nicely, don't you think?

Surprise in the Mail...

So I have finally finished the quilting for the Hello Kitty Baby Quilt and the Love Found wedding quilt. I only have the binding left and hopefully that will be completed by the end of the weekend. I would like to finish piecing the Te Voglio Bene one so that I can long arm quilt it this weekend. Unfortunately, work has made me soooo tired at the end of every day that all I want to do when I get home is go to sleep. So unfortunately, I haven't put in any sewing time this week. So I am very happy that this weekend is a long weekend for me to get in some good sewing time!

Here is the quilted Hello Kitty but I have covered the main surprise that really makes this quilt unique! Again, stay tuned to my posts and I will show the full quilt once it has been sent to its owner.

I FINALLY also received the book that I have been waiting for!!!

The plan is that I make at least a block a week and then I can put the blocks together to make a quilt. Hmmm... now let's see if this actually materializes! =oP
Start time will have to wait until after the Te Voglio Bene quilt is done though!
But I'm excited to start!!!

Ti Voglio Bene

So I am trying to multi-task "piece" in between long arm quilting. Tomorrow, I should put a dent in the actual quilting but for now, I'm trying to piece as much as I can. Here's the start of a wedding quilt. I'm not going to give any more information other than the pictures and the title. However, I will post as the quilt comes to life.
Here are just some of the fabrics that I chose for it with the top as the main theme.

I had a hard time deciding how I should design it and finally decided on a central heart theme. Here are the pieces of the heart.

Stay tuned for the process!!!

Gator Shag Rug, Baby!

T and I had some good quality bonding time this afternoon while the boys played soccer. We decided that we were going to put some work into the shag rug. We had a good assembly line going with her cutting and prep-ing the tshirt scraps while I cut them into the correct strip lengths. I then put it through the canvas and she ties them up. What a team!

It was also wonderful to clear up some floor space in my sewing room as the tshirt scrap pile was getting pretty large from all the tshirt quilts that I have been making! =o) Stay tuned for pictures of what happens to the remaining scraps from the tshirts that we cannot use for the rug project. What a wonderful way to recycle and upcycle! =o)

Dual Present

I've been so busy lately with trying to finish up quilts that are overdue. Unfortunately, the 2 that I have finished piecing are too custom with names on them so I wont post the pictures until they have received them. However, here's one that is halfway done. This quilt is somewhat tricky since it will be 2 sided with each side being totally different themed. I'm still trying to figure out how I want it to turn out including what color thread to use to do the overall quilting.

For Isabella

My sister-in-law just had her first baby. The theme of her nursery is Hello Kitty.
Here's the beginnings of her quilt.
