Bark, Bark and more Bark

T came to visit me in my studio while I was sewing and I asked her if what I was working on looked like bark and sure enough she said yes! I tried capturing the look and texture but it is hard with the lighting.... What do you think? I got too ambitious with the embellishing and wish that I didn't start being too elaborate! There's no turning back now and there sure is a lot of tree to put "bark" on!

Applique Details

With a short Christmas respite, I have started back on the Woodland Creatures Baby Quilt. I am confirming that I really don't like sewing appliques! However, I am making some kind of progress on it and have started embellishing the leaves. Here are some of the details.

While sewing T has decided to come and spend time with me also. I had her working on making more scrap fabric.

I think that these would be perfect to use in making some art doll costumes later!

For Melanie

Here is the inspiration example of what I was given for my Custom Baby Quilt order.

She wanted the Woodland Creatures theme with mixes of pastels with brown and pink as the dominant color. Here are the fabrics I chose.

I had so much fun designing and cutting out the cute appliques that I ended up working through most of the night. Here is what I came up with.

Here are the close up of the details pending customer approval. I hope I have as much fun with the actual sewing of the appliques! =o(

Craft Fair Showing

Just a picture of me and my booth at the Craft Festival in the O'Connell Center.
I showed again this year after a handful of years hiatus. It was nice to be in the midst of other talented artists. Got to advertise my tshirt quilts and got some prospective clients for custom quilt orders!

AOPi Tshirt Quilt Received!

Day job work has kept me so busy that I have not gotten a chance to post! But with the students all gone and the holiday break almost upon us, I am excited at some of the luxury time I have to sew!! This post is a picture that C sent me of her quilt! After a total of 34 custom frame cuts, her tshirt quilt came out to cover a queen size bed!!
