They were doing some construction work around the altar when we visited so we stayed around the back of the church. It is amazing to see an actual building made out of volcanic rock!
As I mentioned in a previous post, this particular visit to
the P.I. is for my Dad and celebrating his 80th birthday where he grew up with
all his remaining siblings and family. But for myself, it is a special time
where I see my dad showing my children the places of his childhood, sharing his
memories and stories.
