Craft Haul

On my Saturday jaunts, I am always looking for crafting stuff.

Here is my score for today.

Yup!  I scored big!

There was this big bin and I made an offer for the lot of it.

There are some ribbons and tassles and cords. 

 There are buttons and pins and Velcro.

Along with the lot are also some bias tape and a tracing wheel.

I got more spools of ribbon and a couple of skeins of yarn.

I got a handful of fat quarters.  

Nice bright fabrics for baby quilts!  :)

There were some burlap and rich satins.

There were some heavier fabrics but also some beautiful embroidered organzas.

There were more fabrics with this batch having a little more modern print.

Some in the right colored chevrons.

...and a handful of silk flowers.

I even got a baby quilt with the lot.

 

Oh yea...  I even got some plaster of Paris to make some chalk paint with.

I've been wanting to try it forever but never got to buying some. 

And a curtain rod.  I found it in the bottom of the bin.

So....  Any guesses how much I got all of this for?

Birthday Present

There are a lot of exciting things on the horizon for me.

Of which I'll tell you as things unfold.

One is that I'm finally taking the GRE.  So now I'm studying for it.   UGH!

I know that it doesn't sound like good news but it is. 

I've put school on hold for a while and I don't want to have so many post bach classes that it'll affect admissions.  So I'm finally being brave and facing my fear.

I just bought one of these!

 

Can't wait!  Can't wait!  Can't wait!

And I am NOT SHARING!  It is ALL MINE!

It is my Birthday present to myself. 

It's not yet for another month but hey, no reason not to celebrate early.

I bought it early because I wanted to have it while I'm on vacation.

I also am sick..and I mean SICK of the fact that although we have 3 computers at home, 2 ipads, an iphone and an android, that I am always without my own device!!!
Well now I will! =o)

Dangerous Dailies

One of the first things I do in the morning is check my email.

Hubby shakes his head at me becuase he says that my inbox is always full of junk mail.

  O_O 

 I disagree!!! But it is a little dangerous.

 

Well today, this is what I saw!

I snatched that up so fast!!



 

So really, there is absolutely no excuse for me to be lazy and make excuses as to why I cant finish up up the shelves or the outdoor armoir.  I'm especially excited to get a move on and do the wainscoting in the family room.  Thanks to my inspiration Mandi and her tutorial!

 

I swear I will get a move on, on this, like ASAP!

June Wish List and Saturday Finds

Soooo....  I WANT one of these BADLY!

Thanks to DadK, the miter saw and the table saw are crossed off my wish list!  =o)
So hopefully, I'll see this camera sooner... (yea, right!)

In the meanwhile, gotta keep crankin on stuff. 
I haven't put anything in my Etsy just because there's sooo much to do.
But I'm at a plateau right now that I am overwhelmed and therefore am not accomplishing much.
...and there's the mulching that is never ending...  Ugh!

But of course, there's always time for my Saturday morning jaunts!  =o)
I've  hit a real great deal on some vintage items that I will be putting in my shop soon.

 I scored a dozen or so vintage doilies in different sizes. 

Majority of them being circular but all of them having wonderful crocheted design.
One of them is dyed in a very pale pink.

 I don't know if I should leave them as is or dye them in the pale hues that the romantics love.
I think they look wonderful displayed with some silver.

I also bought 3 antique books written in German.  

The lettering in the books look wonderful!

I don't know German so I hope that this page is okay to post!

I have also been wanting to try my hand in furniture painting but have been too intimidated.
I scored 3 children's chairs and I think that they are the perfect furniture to start!

5-1 Ipad Camera Connector

Everyone seems to have an Ipad nowadays... and if you are a traveler, it is the best thing invented! 

At least it was the case for us when we went on our trip to the Philippines last year. 

The Ipad (here) is light and small enough to pack and carry around, yet with a large enough screen for gaming, for skyping and for looking through the ga-jillion and one pictures that we took!

 

However, luckily enough, I have a hubby that told me that I better go and buy one of these things below as we got ready for our trip!

Who would've thought I needed the little thingy... thought I could just plug my camera staright to the ipad like I would on a PC... @_@

Last year, I bought one that only read the SD card and compared to this little guy (above pic), I got jipped!

This one is for an Ipad 1, 2 or 3!

 

Believe me when I tell you that this is one gizmo that you need if you have an Ipad or if you're a picture fanatic like I am!!!

Retro Handset

For most of my peeps out there, I know you remember using these telephones...

This fellow Etsyer has them on his shop here. 

This particular one is the "fancy" one because it is a push button instead of the older rotary dial ones.

 

Well we are now in the era of cell phones and these phones I grew up with are now called "retro".  @_@

So you can only imagine my delight when I saw these!!!  =o)

Woohoo!  *Happy Dance!*  =o)

I bought myself a red one right away... just like I had in my old room growing up. 

I LOVE it! 

It is easier on the neck when cell phone multi-tasking ;oP

and best of all, it can't expose you to all that bad cell phone waves that "they" say we are exposed to whenever we use our cellphones.

Plus, I think that it looks much better on the desk in your office! 

Amazon has them here for a ridiculously great price! (cheaper than I spent!)

For those of you that are into metallics, here's a gold one and an aluminum one. 

So darn cool, aren't they?!

For those of you that are into blue tooth, they have them too here.

But then you start to lose that "retro" feel.  I really LOVE mine...cord and all!!  =o)
