Adventure 10- Mindfulness

 My 10th adventure proposal came like this:

Dear Ellen, So here's my suggested adventure. When I read your request for adventures, I immediately envisioned a far away place or a secret destination. 
But the more I thought about it, the more I recognized that no matter where you go...there YOU are. 
It was something that a friend once shared with me. 
So when I reconsidered this request again, I went inward. 
 I suggest with each of your adventures, you immerse yourself introspectively. 
Find the meaning of life and peace through mindful activities. 
Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention on the present.
 When you are mindful, you observe your thoughts and feelings from a distance, without judging them good or bad. 
Instead of letting your life pass you by, mindfulness means living in the moment and awakening to experience. Steps toward mindfulness. Learn how to meditate; take yoga class; or elicit the knowledge of Thierry by convening a group of ladies (me included, of course) to host a Wellness weekend Retreat.. learn more about energy and meditation. Consider this as you begin of your 50th birthday celebration year. Thank you for considering my suggestion. Mindfully yours,C.

So last weekend during the strongest phasing of the super moon, 

I went to a yoga workshop led by a friend.

 

Everything about this workshop spoke of me...
The theme of Harvesting the Season...
the energies brought by all the watery planets' activities...
the moon's entrance into Taurus
bringing illumination and a calming effect,
and clarity and closure to questions.

But most importantly, bringing to me the importance of life...
Family and dear friends.

 Eerily all of these hit my being..
So strong that despite all the opposing powers,
I felt only serenity.

 

A deep calm that shows me the beauty
and endless abundance of my many blessings.

and am glad that I was able to share with you a small part of the weekend.

...and most of all to all my beautiful friends...
brothers and sisters of my universe
that made this adventure possible.

Adventure 9- Dance Like No One is Watching

People wonder... why are my fruit trees always laden with fruits?

Why is each bough so heavy that we have to prop them up with 2 by 4s?

It's because of beautiful visits from friends such as this!

Beautiful creatures that sport the most fantastic of colors.

This one with bold blues that the camera couldn't capture well....

But it lingered around for a while and let me visit with it.

Then other friends came to visit too!

Some of them as curious about me as I am of them!  LOL!

Hermine's visit may have been unfriendly to some....

K manor lost power for over 27 hours...

but despite the inconveniences, we enjoyed time with family.

...and to the rest of the green around us?

They loved her visit!

Typically, I'll get a bloom or two....  but ALL of them?!?

As for me, the rains were a welcome friend...

..and I ran towards K Manor Woods and danced!

And I thanked the heavens for allowing me to just "BE".

and to continue to bless me with all the bounty.... and for LIFE.

It really is true...

that when you give with pure heart.

You will always be rewarded back.

Adventure 8- Wine and Paint

One of my old colleagues and I had always planned to go a wine and paint night.

Before we had a chance to do the outing, she had moved.

When I asked for my adventure,

this was what she sent.

Actually, she sent two adventures

but I'm not going to share the other one.  ;)

Well tonight, I complete this adventure!

Some friends and I went to Painting with a Twist 

and had a fantastic time!

Second 50 adventures for 50 completed.

Thought of you the whole time, O!

The Little Things...

This is one of my birthday presents.

...from a dear friend.

It came with a set of green wine glasses too.

I have been enjoying myself coloring it

while I sip on some wine.

It's very relaxing.

She's right about one thing though...

alot of the joys in life are in the little things.<3 p="">

Special Celebration

Last Saturday I completed my first 50 for 50 adventure.

 

I celebrated life with my dearest friends and family.

The venue was beautiful...

held in a historic clubhouse built in 1912.

It had beautiful wood floors...  just perfect for dancing!

Everyone seemed to have had a great time...

I know I did!:)

The theme of the celebration is Shades of Green.

and we had plenty of yummy "long" foods

to symbolize long life.

All of it truly was a fantastic scene!:)

 

That night, all in one room is where my past

 my present

and my future merged.

It was a wonderful celebration.

...and a beautiful adventure completed.

What a way to kick start my next half century!  :)

Ready, Set. Go!

Yesterday was a great day.

I turned 50!

It was a day full of love, well wishes and celebrations.
My First adventure started at 4:30 AM.
It started out like this...

It was nice to start my day with some quiet reflections.

Then I went to work...
and was presented with this...  :) 

The singing was extra special since it was full of cheer
for someone that does not greet the day until at least 10AM.
and it was only about 9 o'clock.   LOL!

Throughout the day, my phone was full of buzzes and dings and pings...
and my email mailboxes full of messages.


The day ended with family and presents and noodle dinner for long life.

and topped with a wonderful birthday cake made with love.

Thank you to every single one of you
that called, texted, left messages, sent me snaps,
my wonderful message on instagram,
all the facebook posts,
the cards received
and the presents in the mail.

THANK YOU!

I am truly blessed.

Thank you all for being a part of my life.

Let the new adventure begin!
